Administrative Support Specialist-This certificate will prepare the student for entering a business environment to become an office professional. The student will develop skills in touch keyboarding and applications, electronic office procedures, word processing, language skills, electronic information systems, human relations and communications.
Bookkeeping & Office – This certificate will prepare the student for entering the job market in positions in bookkeeping and/or work in an accounting department. The student will develop skills in basic accounting including the accounting cycle, computerized accounting, keyboarding and tenkey by touch as well as business math. MBA in International Perspective Admissions Requirements at Arcadia University

An M.B.A. application, including personal statements, to be completed online at http://apply.arcadia.edu.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a recommended GPA of 3.0 or better.
One official transcript from each college, university or professional school attended. Transfer credits included on a transcript must include grades earned; if not, an official transcript from the original school must be submitted. Transcripts must be sent from the issuing school in a sealed envelope and contain the appropriate signatures and seals to be considered official.
Two letters of recommendation. The letters must be of a professional not personal nature.
Test scores may be submitted if previous coursework does not indicate an appropriate background in quantitative knowledge. GRE or GMAT scores are preferred; however, CLEP examinations also may be submitted. A minimum quantitative score of 550 on the GRE or a total score of 500 on the GMAT is recommended.
A minimum of two years of work experience. Students with exceptional undergraduate records with less work experience may be considered.
A current professional résumé.
A signed Statement of Intent to Study Abroad form.

Official results from the TOEFL or IELTS are required for all students for whom English is a second language except for non-native speakers of English who hold degrees or diplomas from post-secondary institutions in English-speaking countries (e.g. the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand). A course-by-course evaluation of all transcripts by an independent evaluation service based in the United States also is required.
All of the above information must be submitted by an applicant in order to be considered for acceptance.

MBA in International Perspective Curriculum at Arcadia University

Currculum
The Arcadia M.B.A. with an International Perspective focuses on information management and other core skills needed to achieve sustainable outcomes in a variety of domestic and international business settings. Several important themes are reflected throughout the curriculum:
Global Perspective—The program gives students an understanding of management decision-making in environments where cultural, social and economic models and expectations are different from those in a strictly U.S. context. The two study abroad courses are designed to provide real-world immersion in foreign business situations. Likewise, the best practices and management models to be studied are those that have international as well as domestic applications.
Improved Decision-Making—Students become familiar with the latest management decision-making tools and techniques that represent the current best practices of successful companies. Decision-making areas include marketing, finance and operations.
Social Responsibility—Students become aware and sensitized to the impact that business decisions have on society. They learn how to develop sustainable organizations by planning within a balanced ethical framework.
Integrative Learning—This is the cornerstone of the Arcadia approach and refers to the integration of formal learning with real-world opportunities for practice and application. The Arcadia M.B.A. program emphasizes the understanding and use of skills and business leadership styles for effective planning and strategizing. The study abroad components present students with concrete business situations in which to apply these understandings.
Each semester consists of seven weeks of classes with a two-week break before the next semester.

No additional cost for one-week study abroad experiences.
Financial Aid
Graduate students who have been accepted into a degree program and are enrolled for at least 6 credits per semester are eligible to apply for financial aid. For more information, visit www.arcadia.edu/financialaid regarding required forms and documents, most of which can be submitted online.
Graduate assistantships are available to all students registered for 9 credits or more per semester. Students may apply for assistantships upon acceptance and registration. Questions regarding graduate assistantships should be directed to the College of Graduate Studies at 215-572-2925.
Federal Loans

MA inInstructional Technology at Arcadia University

This program seeks to prepare highly qualified teachers who are capable of utilizing technology as a partner in the learning process. The overarching goal is to develop practitioners who are able to assess educational situations and plan for the effective use of technology that supports learning. The program is designed from a problem-based learning perspective. Problem-based learning is an instructional method or educational approach that is characterized by the use of real-world problems as a stimulus for learners to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It places an emphasis on active engagement that involves learners in the metacognitive process of thinking about their learning and leading them to a deeper level of understanding.
Specific Objectives
1. Provide sound theoretical foundation while building a bridge to practice.
2. Establish the practice of reading and evaluating current research in Instructional Technology.
3. Strengthen teachers’ problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
4. Develop skills necessary for teachers to plan and utilize technology as a partner in the teaching and learning process.
5. Provide training in current and emerging technologies.
6. Encourage teachers to participate in professional technology organizations and share their knowledge with future teachers.
