AAS in Business Office Systems Specialist at Minnesota State Community And Technical College

A student graduating from this program has the skills and knowledge to run a small office. They demonstrate ability implementing and performing standard accounting procedures and demonstrate designing, configuring and maintaining a computer network infrastructure capable of supporting the applications, data, and security policies.

Program outcomes
1. Analyze and apply accounting theory to service and merchandising organizations.
2. Demonstrate application of a variety of software programs including integrated accounting software.
3. Prepare and process payroll reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
4. Apply business laws to the business environment.
5. Design a computer network.
6. Perform updates, maintenance, and administration for computerized software applications.
7. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
8. Demonstrate effective business communication skills.
9. Implement internal control system.
10. Design internal control system.
11. Design network security policies.
12. Implement network security policies.
