AAS in Financial And Credit Service Administration at Minnesota State Community And Technical College

This program prepares individuals with the skills needed to support credit, lending, and selling functions in financial institutions, trade and service credit, and collection agencies. Prospective students should be interested in working with numbers and details, and should have a genuine desire to assist other people with credit services.

Program outcomes
1. Apply understanding of current regulations to deposit and lending products.
2. Demonstrate quality principles/standards which result in continuously providing exceptional customer service creating greater customer satisfaction (relationship building).
3. Analyze financial statements to determine trends and credit risk.
4. Prepare all real estate loan and consumer loan documents from pre-qualifying loan application to loan closing.
5. Describe how the financial service industry was started and how it evolved into what it is today.
6. Analyze customer’s savings/investment needs through profiling questions. Match needs to products available that meet those needs.
7. Explain the features and benefits of various deposit products along with proper account ownership and proper account titling.
8. Evaluate consumer borrowing needs to effectively recommend loan products.
