International Masters Degree at Mid Sweden University
International Master’s Programmes
Mid Sweden University offers seven two-year master’s programmes and two one-year master’s programmes, all entirely taught in English.
A prerequisite for applying to a master’s level programme is the completion of a three-year bachelor’s degree, a degree or diploma equivalent to 180 ECTS (180 higher education credits). For English language programmes, you should also have documented evidence of proficiency in English. For more information about a specific master’s programme, please select from the list below.
International Master’s Programmes autumn 2009
Master programme (one year) in Business Administration, Marketing and Management, 60 higher education credits
International Master’s Programme in Computer Engineering, 120 higher education credits
International Master’s Programme in Electronics Design
International Master’s Programme in Public Information Systems
International Master’s Programme in Journalism, Media and Democracy
International Master’s Programme in Ecotechnology and Sustainable Development, 120 higher education credits
Master (one year) in Human Resources, 60 Higher Education Credits
International Master’s Programme in Pulp and Paper engineering
Master (one year) in Human Geography focusing on tourism, 60 higher education credits
Master in Tourism, 120 higer education credits
Eligibility
For all International Master’s Programmes at Mid Sweden University it is required that you fill the general requirements for Master’s programmes. This means that you must have completed a first (undergraduate) degree of at least 180 higher education credits from a Swedish Higher Education Institution or from another country, or have equivalent qualifications.
Specific requirements

English language proficiency
For all International Master’s Programmes at Mid Sweden University it is required that you prove your proficiency in English. There are two types of proficiency in English – basic proficiency and special proficiency. To find out what applies to the master’s programme you want to apply for please check the programme description above.
Basic proficiency in English can be proven by for example the following international tests:
TOEFL with a minimum score of 500 on paper based test and not below 4.0 on the TWE
TOEFL with a minimum score of 173 on computer based test
TOEFL with a minimum score of 61 on internet based test
IELTS Academic Training with a minimum overall score of 5.0 and a minimum score on the specific parts of at least 4.5
Special proficiency in english can be proven by for example the following international tests:
TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 on paper based test and not below 4.0 on the TWE
TOEFL with a minimum score of 213 on computer based test
TOEFL with a minimum score of 79 on internet based test
IELTS Academic Training with a minimum overall score of 6.0 and a minimum score on the specific parts of at least 5.0
