Major in Management at Assumption College

The curriculum is structured to develop the student’s ability to identify, analyze, and contribute to the solution of the problems of organizing and directing the resources of any organization. As such, it prepares the students for positions in professional management of profit or nonprofit organizations and for graduate studies in business disciplines and in related areas. The curriculum seeks to develop and sharpen knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

• Principal management activities of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling

• Communication (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)

• Quantitative and qualitative methods useful in problem identification and problem-solving

• Organizational problem-solving

• Strategy development and implementation

• Organizational behavior, including interpersonal relations, group decision making, and leadership effectiveness.
